Jaguars LT Anton Harrison Reportedly Out For Year

According to a recent report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Jacksonville Jaguars starting left tackle Anton Harrison will miss the rest of the 2026 NFL season with a torn ACL. The torn ACL was reportedly revealed during his surgery on Thursday.

Harrison was carted off the field at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the third quarter of an improbable, 19-17 Week 5 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He was then placed on the IR, with the expectation that it would be a three to five week recovery.

Contingency Plan In Motion

While many in the Jacksonville fanbase were quick to label reserve offensive lineman Walker Little as an offseason (and in-season) trade piece, the reported news of Harrison’s loss shows exactly why Little has so much value on this roster: as a stand-in at both the tackle and guard spots. After stepping into the left tackle role for the final quarter against Philadelphia, giving up zero quarterback pressures, Little gave up two pressures in Week 6 against the Houston Texans’ dominant defensive front. The team will need a continued level of play as they continue their playoff push forward.

Jaguar Schedule Through November:

With this upcoming slate after the bye week, Jacksonville can weather the early storm, while allowing Walker Little more time to acclimate alongside Emmanuel Pregnon. Notably, the team has Wyatt Milum and Daniel Faalele as additional options to step in as a sixth offensive lineman or new swing guard and tackle.

Effect on Scheme, Negotiations?

Prior to this injury, Harrison had missed just three games in his first three NFL seasons since being drafted 27th overall out of Oklahoma in 2023. The Jaguars recently picked up his fifth-year option in April, which included a flip from right tackle to left tackle. In terms of his contract negotiations, this injury obviously puts Harrison in an interesting spot as well, as he has only been sitting on the left side, with some up and down performances.

While Jacksonville may be one of the better positioned teams to absorb the loss of their left tackle, it’s clearly a big loss that will change how they run their offense. Harrison, for example, in 2025 and 2026 was routinely left on an island, allowing the Jaguars to play with more receiving options down the field on passing plays. With Walker sliding slightly to left tackle, the Jaguars are, perhaps, more likely to give chips and double teams to Little and a rebounding Cole Van Lanen at right tackle. This could result in fans seeing more offensive sub-packages, with the team likely leaning more on two tight sets, 13 personnel, and jumbo packages to slow the rush. Only time will tell, however.
