Jack Campbell shared the injury update in the first public statement

Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell has been in the hospital since Sunday, when he suffered a serious neck injury in the team’s 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

The win was clearly not the story of the day. Instead, the story is that Campbell was rushed to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Today, the linebacker sent his first public statement after the gruesome injury. It is a positive and a message full of faith.

In a post shared on the Lions’ official social media accounts, Campbell shared an update. One of the biggest takeaways is that Campbell said he has full range of motion in his lower body and continues to progress with movement in his upper body.

He also said that he hopes for his recovery. While he acknowledges there’s still work ahead, Campbell said he’s encouraged by how much progress he’s made in such a short amount of time. He takes things one day at a time.

“My family and I want to sincerely thank everyone for the outpouring of love, prayers and support we have received over the past few days,” Campbell said. “It means more to us than words can express. I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short time.

“I have full range of motion in my lower body, and I continue to improve in my upper range of motion. I know there’s still work to do, but I remain very optimistic. I take things day by day, I stay positive, and I’m focused on getting better. My faith in God has never been stronger. I know He has a plan for me, and I trust that plan. corner, I know we can get through this.”

He also thanked the athletic trainers and medical personnel who helped him.

“Please continue to keep me and my family in your prayers,” Campbell added. “We feel the love, and I can’t thank everyone enough. God is good. My faith is strong.”
