Check out the final Los Angeles Chargers injury report for Week 4 against Seattle, including updates from Ladd McConkey and Derwin James.
The Chargers are battling big attrition across the board with four players out and five starters with questionable tags in Week 4
The Los Angeles Chargers enter Week 4 facing a critical early season test that will push their overall roster depth to the limit. Navigating the opening month of the campaign is rarely seamless in the NFL, but head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff find themselves in charge of one of the league’s tightest medical reports heading into the weekend. Friday’s final practice sheet provided significant cause for concern, as Los Angeles officially ruled out four contributors while tagging five other key players as questionable ahead of Sunday’s interconference clash.

The offensive side took an immediate hit with three players out of action. Guard Kayode Awosika will miss Sunday’s contest with a fibula injury after failing to practice on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. His absence leaves the interior offensive line without a valuable rotation of snaps.
Charlie Kolar was also declared out with an arm injury despite appearing in a limited capacity on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions. Wide receiver Brenen Thompson rounds out the offensive scratches, as he was unable to log any reps in practice all week due to a lingering quadricep issue.
On defense, the front took a big hit with defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson officially ruled out. Tomlinson missed Wednesday, Thursday or Friday with a hamstring injury. The loss of Tomlinson’s anchor and interior gap-plugging deprives the Chargers of their top run-stuffer in the trenches.
High-profile playmakers are listed as questionable for Sunday
Beyond those ruled out, the Chargers have five players with questionable designations who will likely require pregame evaluations prior to kickoff.
Leading wide receiver Ladd McConkey is questionable with a foot issue. McConkey was limited on Wednesday, sat out Thursday, and returned for a limited session on Friday. McConkey serves as the offense’s primary separator and chain-mover, making his presence vital for the passing attack. Back-up quarterback Trey Lance is also questionable after being limited all week with a groin issue, which could leave Los Angeles thin on the signal-caller if he can’t dress.
In the secondary, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter faces a steep challenge with three defensive backs with questionable grades. All-Pro safety Derwin James is questionable with a hamstring injury after working in a limited role Wednesday, not being off Thursday, and returning to limited reps Friday. Cornerback Donte Jackson is navigating concussion protocol; while he progressed from not participating Wednesday to limited Thursday and full participation Friday, he remains formally questionable. Defensive back Elijah Molden carries the questionable tag after logging limited sessions all three days with a hamstring problem.
Veteran pass rushers and key contributors were cleared
Despite a long list of question marks, the Chargers received encouraging news regarding several veteran anchors who have completely avoided game status assignments.
Edge rushers Khalil Mack and Bud Dupree were completely cleared to lead the pass rush. Mack sat out Wednesday for non-injury rest before logging full practices Thursday and Friday. Dupree missed practice Thursday to rest but returned to full participation Friday. Both outside linebackers will play without limitations.
Along the defensive line, Justin Eboigbe showed positive progress from an eye injury, moving from not participating on Wednesday to limited work on Thursday and a full workload on Friday to avoid an injury tag. In the backfield, running back Keaton Mitchell is also good to go after managing an ankle issue all week. Mitchell was limited on Wednesday and Thursday before participating fully on Friday, ensuring the Chargers can use his speed to complement the ground game on Sunday afternoon.
