The Kansas City Chiefs are doing their homework on wide receivers after injuries to Tyquan Thornton (dislocated ankle) and Rashee Rice (hamstring).
The Cheetah, Tyreek Hill, was inevitable a few weeks ago — but now? The team has a decision to make before the trade deadline on Nov. 10. If Kansas City chooses to trade for a wideout, the Hill reunion may not happen after all.

The latest Kansas City Chiefs news
Right now, I don’t understand the Chiefs being in a rush to sign Tyreek Hill. I didn’t have anyone take it down after the civil trial verdict on Tuesday; A jury in Miami found Hill liable for two counts of battery against his estranged wife. And our Adam Kilgore laid out the nuances involved in potentially signing Hill in his excellent piece Thursday.
I expect the Chiefs to lean on a young receiver like Jalen Royals in the short term as the team continues to sniff the wide receiver trade market. If Kansas City makes a deal for a speedy receiver before the Nov. 10 deadline, I would take that as a negative development for a Hill reunion.
Stats to know: The Chargers’ defense has eight takeaways this season, tied for fifth-most in the NFL. That’s the most takeaways by an 0-5 team since the 2015 Lions, who had nine. — ESPN Research
Bold prediction: Herbert would average under 3 air yards per attempt. The Chargers already have the lowest average target depth in the league (4.2), but now they face a Chiefs defense that also gives up one of the fewest air yards per attempt to opponents (6.4). — Walder
Mahomes is back playing at a high level, however, helped by the success of free agent acquisition Kenneth Walker III in the Chiefs’ backfield. They’re catching deep passes like they were in Mahomes’ early days in the league, and the fact that he was able to scramble, create and run the offense in Kansas City without his knee causing any issues puts everyone in their building at ease.
His counterpart, Justin Herbert, is a microcosm – or a big reason for – many of the Chargers’ problems. He is tied with Patriots quarterback Drake Maye for the most interceptions in the league, and only the Browns’ Deshaun Watson had more sacks in Week 6.
One trend that has plagued the Chiefs in 2025 is their inability to close out games, evidenced by Kansas City’s 1-9 mark in one-possession contests. Well, at least so far this year, that trend appears to be turning around.
Kansas City is 2-0 in one-possession games this season, and a key part of the Chiefs’ 4-0 start overall has been its collective performance in the fourth quarter, with Kansas City owning the third-best scoring margin (+19) in the NFL. In particular, the Chiefs have yet to commit a fourth-quarter turnover while yielding just one sack.
Kenneth Walker against the Chargers’ rushing defense
At this point in the season, any matchup involving Kenneth Walker deserves attention. He led the NFL in rushing with 537 yards through four games, averaging 6.2 yards per carry, while seemingly forcing double-digit missed tackles every week.
Los Angeles is allowing 4.36 yards per carry to opposing rushers this season, which ranks 19th in the league. Walker has rushed for more than 170 yards in two of his four outings this season, including 177 against the Raiders just two weeks ago, giving the Chiefs a big lead on Sunday.
The move will sideline the star quarterback indefinitely, according to sources. The Eagles, who officially announced the move Saturday afternoon, are waiting to make a roster decision until after consulting with medical experts, according to sources.
Ever since Hurts started dealing with a superficial blood clot in his calf, the Eagles have been trying to explore every option and gather as much information as possible. Hurts met with doctors and had others examine his blood clot and weigh in on their knowledge.
Chicago plans to start Caleb Williams against the host Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and ESPN’s Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter reported Saturday.
Williams, a full participant in practice all week, was designated as questionable on Friday. He missed the last three weeks with a hamstring injury.
In his absence, the Bears won Week 3 with Case Keenum under center against the Philadelphia Eagles, won again the following week with Tyson Bagent starting against the New York Jets, and faltered in Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers with Bagent starting, struggling and sitting late for Keenum.
On Saturday, more than 1,200 arrests were made after an “escalation of violence” took place with around 550,000 citizens protesting.
The demonstrations, sparked by concerns about conditions in schools and the cost of living, lasted for several weeks.
The NFL said Wednesday: “We are excited for the first regular season game in Paris, and preparations continue as scheduled for NFL events and the game at the Stade de France on October 25. As we do for every NFL game, including our international games, we are working closely with local authorities and partners on all operational and security matters. We look forward to welcoming fans to Paris later this month.”

The goal should be at least three sacks and consistent hits on Herbert. Steve Spagnuolo can attack Los Angeles’ inexperienced blockers with twists, simulated pressures and carefully timed blitzes. More importantly, Kansas City’s front four must win enough games to keep Herbert from getting comfortable.
Pressures matter. This week, however, the Chiefs will have to turn into drive-ending sacks.
over/under Armstrong
If inserted into the game how much impact would Armstrong have???
I’ll be optimistic and say 4 rec 40yrds and a touchdown.
And he spring Walker for a long touchdown!!! (A man can dream right)
Watson might nod but
