Chargers Injury Report: Brenen Thompson, Kayode Awosika DNP

The Chargers won’t come out of the bye week with a clean bill of health.

To get the positives out of the way first, offensive tackle Joe Alt was not on Wednesday’s injury report which is huge news for the offense. After receiving good news on his neck injury, he seems to have ramped up quickly.

Unfortunately, that good news coincided with recent Derwin James news. According to Jim Harbaugh, James is considered a candidate for IR after he suffered a setback with his hamstring injury during the bye. Unsurprisingly, James did not practice Wednesday.

After missing the past four games, both guard Kayode Awosika and receiver Brenen Thompson have been sidelined with fibula and hamstring/quad injuries, respectively. The Awosika injury remains a disappointment as he was not placed on IR for a reason, but is now on pace to miss his fifth game.

On the brother side, receiver Tre’ Harris (hamstring) and cornerback Donte Jackson (hamstring) both returned to the practice field as limited participants. Ladd McConkey, who left the Chiefs game with a concussion, is a full participant to start Week Eight.
