Case Keenum had a night to remember on Monday, complete with a new franchise record for the Chicago Bears.
With Caleb Williams sidelined due to hamstring injury and No. 2 quarterback Tyson Bagent just before the end of concussion protocol, the Bears went with veteran QB Keenum to handle the starting gig under center on Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill.
Keenum answered the call and repaid the Bears’ faith in him by putting together a memorable performance in leading Chicago to a 27-7 victory.
That performance included something Keenum probably didn’t see coming, as he ended a seven-year personal drought for his first rushing touchdown of the decade.
His score with just over seven minutes left in the fourth quarter made him the oldest player (38 years and 223 days) in Bears franchise history to score a rushing touchdown, according to Courtney Cronin of ESPN.

Keenum has never been known for his wheels or ability to find the end zone with his legs, but he did it this time, albeit by just one yard. Before that, the last time he scored a rushing touchdown was in 2019, when he was still with the Washington Redskins.
All told, Keenum had 247 passing yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers on 24/34 completion against the Eagles.
