Bo Nix: Playing good and playing bad, it’s a narrative and something that’s made up

Bo Nix dismissed the numbers.

The Broncos quarterback seems to be having a pedestrian season so far. His numbers dropped from 2025 in completion percentage (64.3 to 59.9), yards per attempt (6.4 to 5.8) and passer rating (87.8 to 80.8). The Broncos are ranked 30th in total offense after being 10th last season.

However, Nix doesn’t see it that way.

“Playing good and playing bad, it’s a narrative, and I think it’s honestly kind of something we’re building on,” Nix said after Tuesday’s practice, via Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette. “I don’t think I’m playing any different than I usually do.”

Nix was just 16-of-27 for 123 yards with a touchdown in Sunday’s 23-17 win over the Chargers. He had only one completion longer than 16 yards.

Still, Nix looks at the positive.

“We’re sitting here at 3-2 and off to a great start to our season,” Nix said. “There are things we want to clean up. There are things we want to fix. We’re leaving some things out there on the field but we’re looking for ways to win like we did last year [during a 14-3 season]. I feel strongly that we will continue to do so.”
