The Buffalo Bills have signed fan favorite home-grown linebacker Joe Andreessen to a new multi-year deal, Tom Pelissero reports. It’s a two-year extension that keeps Andreessen a member of the Bills through the 2028 season.

Andreessen was one of the last invitees to the Bills rookie minicamp in 2024.
Not only did he earn an invite to training camp afterward, he starred in his very first preseason with 14 tackles, eight stops, and a fumble returned for a touchdown in three exhibition outings.
He’s been a mainstay on special teams ever since, and in 2025, Andreessen has asserted himself as a true special teams ace. The Lancaster native ranks second in the NFL with 23 special-teams tackles and has five to three games.
Also important to Andreessen is — he also serves as a highly athletic inside linebacker reserve. At 6’0″ and 240 pounds at the University at Buffalo Pro Day, Andreessen ran a 4.65 and had a 38″ vertical and 122″ broad jump, the latter two measurements elite level for a second-level defender.

Andreessen turned 26 in February. He is in the prime of his NFL career. From tailgating in Bills parking lots in a Matt Milano jersey to a second contract with his hometown team. Awesome for Andreessen.
