Wondering for Jeremiah Smith? Bring on Carnell Tate

Ian Miller

Tate ranks as WR30 with 11.7 PPR points per game through the first four games. But his production being somewhere between Kalif Raymond and Tyquan Thornton belies how impressive the rookie WR is.

The Titans’ leading WR is coming off a career-high 42.9% target share against the Ravens, becoming the sixth WR to command at least a 40% target share in a week this season.

But like his three games prior, Tate’s output was underwhelming compared to his target volume. His 21.9 PPR points in Week 4 were the second-lowest scoring game for a WR with at least 40% target share this season.

He’s now up to a 29.6% target share which ranks 6th among all WRs but with QB Cam Ward 30th in passing TD rate and 31st in adjusted yards per attempt, Tate’s high volume has struggled to translate into high-end production.

There aren’t many instances where a young WR can be impressive despite a low grade. Tate provides a rare example.

It’s Time to Assess Your Dynasty Future

Shane Hallam

Now that we’re four games in, it’s a good time to take stock of your team’s dynasty and where it’s headed. Are you a real opponent? Or is it time to start planning for the future?

That means looking at more than just your record (where you may be lucky) and your points scored (a spike week may not indicate a strong opponent). Use our League Analyzer and Win Now Mode to truly see where you line up.

If your team isn’t in the top three or so, it might be time to start looking forward and investing in younger players and picks. It can be a huge advantage to be one of the first teams to move veterans into contenders for future picks and younger players. You can beat other middling teams to the punch.

Don’t sell your players, but the top teams may need a final push or have injuries that are already hurting their team. That’s where you can grab to get their future draft pick or upside young players. Use our Dynasty Strategy tips to help guide you.

Trade For Bhayshul Tuten

Jared Smola

Headshot of Bhayshul Tuten

I have tried to include this move in our weekly Trade article many times without success.

Tuten has been productive enough so far that his owner isn’t looking to give him up. But I think he’s a good bet to be better the rest of the way than his current market value suggests.

Tuten has been amazing for 4 weeks. Of the 51 RBs with 20+ carries this season, he ranks:

  • 12th in yards per carry
  • 10th in yards after contact per attempt
  • 10th in missed tackles forced per attempt
  • 8th in success rate
  • 13th in explosive run rate

And his role seems to be in vogue. Tuten set season highs in Week 4 in snap rate, route rate, carry share, and target share.

He will also continue to benefit from playing in a strong team. The Jaguars are 3-1 and rank second in total DVOA. The running game has been particularly effective, ranking second in my Run Offense Power Rankings.

Many are working in Tuten’s favor. I like his chances to score as a top-15 RB the rest of the way.
