Air Jordan 8 ‘Hornets’: Where to Buy the Chris Paul PE-Inspired Release

The Air Jordan 8 ‘Hornets’ (JF9225-001) brings a rare Chris Paul player exclusive from his days in New Orleans to the public. Black nubuck, New Emerald accents, and Tour Yellow detailing give Tinker Hatfield’s classic silhouette a striking makeover. The first mockups have my attention, but January 2027 already has some serious competition.

When Will The Air Jordan 8 ‘Hornets’ Release?

What Makes the Air Jordan 8 ‘Hornets’ Stand Out?

Early mockups depict a black nubuck upper with the Air Jordan 8’s signature crisscross straps, a padded collar, and perforated side panels. New Emerald wraps around the sculpted midsole, while Tour Yellow highlights the chenille tongue logo and graffiti-inspired heel graphics.

The New Orleans Hornets color scheme gives the 1993 silhouette a new identity. Its dark upper and colorful accents work well with Tinker Hatfield’s unconventional design. Official images have yet to surface, so final materials and details remain unconfirmed.

Should You Buy The Air Jordan 8 ‘Hornets’?

I love this colorway, especially how the colorful Hornets accents break up the black nubuck. The Air Jordan 8’s thick construction and unique crisscross straps give those colors plenty of room to shine.

However, I’m more excited about Jordan’s other January releases, particularly the Air Jordan 12 ‘Obsidian.’ At $215, the Hornets aren’t an automatic buy for me. However, the official photos may tell another story. If the materials and colors look better than these early mockups, I might change my mind.
