Another week, another loss for the Chargers as they continue to look for their first win of the season.
As the only remaining team without a victory so far, there is no other place to rank them than bottom last.
So unfortunately no surprises in store this week. If you want to see what analysts keep saying about the Chargers now that they’re 0-7, go ahead and continue below.
The Rams gained 24 yards on their first 15 plays — on their first five possessions — of Sunday’s game and still beat the Chargers by 15 points. The Bolts kept repeating the same mistakes (looking at you, Justin Herbert) and didn’t score a touchdown in 27 drives. It couldn’t get any worse for the NFL’s only remaining winless team.
“Best in-season trade acquisition ever: WR Wes Chandler in 1981”
“The Chargers traded star wide receiver John Jefferson to Green Bay earlier in the season due to contract restraints and needed a new No. 1 target for Dan Fouts. So they sent a first-round pick, a third-round pick, and wideout Aundra Thompson (who came from the Packers in the Jefferson deal) to New Orleans for Chandler. From 1981 to 1987, Chandler averaged 917 yards and six touchdowns per season. That included over 1,000 receiving yards in just eight games during the strike-shortened 1982 season.” –Aaron Schatz
“Fact check: Jim Harbaugh lost his fastball”
“The Chargers fell to 0-7 on Sunday for the first time since 2000, when their current coach was the quarterback. Harbaugh is still fifth among active head coaches in winning percentage (63.9 percent), but he seems disconnected from the league’s most confusing team all year. Los Angeles is last in the league in offensive EPA (minus-95.56).” – Chad Graff and Josh Kendall
“Jim Harbaugh’s stubborn refusal to change coordinators could cost him his job.” – Mike Florio
“The Los Angeles Chargers have been tough to watch for two months. They’re the league’s lowest scoring team, and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel’s unit hasn’t improved.”
“Coming into a Week 7 bye, the Chargers didn’t score a touchdown against the Los Angeles Rams and turned the ball over twice.”
“Los Angeles is stuck at the bottom of the power rankings, with an offense that has sunk into insignificance.” – Moe Moton
“The Chargers lost their season, so the obvious move is to trade veterans who can help elsewhere. Mack is clearly at the top of that list. He started all seven games, had three sacks and could add immediate legitimacy to a defense from the edge. He’s a likely future Hall of Famer and while he’s not the same player at age 35, he’s still an asset. He’s also no stranger to being traded, having been dealt from the Raiders to the Bears and then the Bears to the Chargers earlier in his career.”
“‘You’ve got to be where your feet are man, ultimately,’ Mack said, via Eric Williams of Fox Sports. ‘That’s probably the hardest thing when you’re dealing with a lot of outside noise and stuff. Just trying to be where your feet are all the time. That’s kind of been the case with me over the years.'”
“The Chargers saw little change from Justin Herbert after the bye, after he threw two more interceptions to seal the fate against the Rams. He consistently delivers the lowest of all NFL players.” – Vinnie Iyer
“Only one team this season has lost coming into its bye week. We’ll give you a prediction.” – Nate Davis
