The Philadelphia Eagles are not trending in the right direction.
They are 2-5 this season after losing five straight.
Since last year, they are 5-10 in their last 15 games.
Was Monday night’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys too low? Or are there more losses along the way?
The odds are not in Philly’s favor when it comes to hoping to bounce back with a win in Week 8.
The Eagles were 5.5-point road underdogs to the 1-4-1 Washington Commanders on Sunday night, according to FanDuel.
This line has shifted in Washington’s favor after originally opening at 4.5 points.

This is a tough spot for the Eagles from a scheduling standpoint. The Birds, already somewhat injured, will come off short rest against a Commanders team that should enjoy their Week 7 bye.
Washington will likely be looking for revenge after a narrow loss to the Eagles in Week 1. Dan Quinn is also trying to get off the hot seat after facing a lot of scrutiny this season.
I think we will see a more inspired defensive performance from the Eagles after their embarrassment against the Cowboys. But effort and strength alone will not fix their issues.
Offensively, the Eagles are coming off their strongest performance of the season. But they also faced arguably the worst defense in the NFL. We need to see more before there’s any legitimate talk of them turning.
I don’t think the Commanders are that good but I have a hard time giving the Birds the benefit of the doubt.
