The Seahawks will sign RB Joe Mixon to their practice squad, pending a physical, according to multiple reports. Our last update on Mixon came in July and read, “Joe Mixon is not expected to play again.” He missed the entire 2025 campaign after suffering a mysterious foot injury in the offseason. Mixon ran for 1,016 yards on 4.1 yards per carry in 2024. He turned 30 in July.

It’s a strange story for many times.
First of all, it seemed like Mixon’s career was over considering that injury, his age, and the fact that he sat out an entire year.
Second, the Seahawks are about to bring back RB Zach Charbonnet and just spent a first-round pick on RB Jadarian Price, who is eligible to come off IR in three weeks. RB Emanuel Wilson also played well in Week 4.
Maybe the Mixon signing says something about Charbonnet and/or Price’s health, but that’s just speculation on our part.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on this backfield, but Mixon is only worth adding if you have a roster spot to play for. Charbonnet remains a better hide.
