Georgia linebacker Chris Cole enjoyed a great 2026 season and made himself an early-round prospect for the 2027 NFL Draft. Cole has been a thumper in the ground game who has shown some ability to play zone coverage while also being a dangerous pass rusher. Cole had some big plays to help bring down one of Georgia’s biggest rushers.
On the first snap for the Georgia defense, Cole made a great tackle on Baugh to limit him to three, and it was a clutch stop as Baugh had a lane to break off a chunk run if Cole hadn’t stopped. At the end of the second quarter, Cole scooped up a fumble and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, Cole showed off his speed by running down the sideline to help push a receiver out of bounds before a first down.
For the NFL, Cole looks like a starting middle linebacker. He is a force in the ground game with great tackling ability. Cole has great instincts, reads his keys quickly, and is adept at working the trash to get the ball. While Cole is not an elite man cover linebacker in pass coverage, he works in zone and is also a dangerous blitzer. Cole seems like a safe pick to be a quality starter in the NFL. He could be picked in the back half of the first round and shouldn’t last long if he slips to day two.
Georgia has two great defensive backs for the 2027 NFL Draft in cornerback Ellis Robinson IV and safety KJ Bolden. They were both active against the Gators. In the first quarter, Robinson was in the right spot as the Florida quarterback made a silly play, dropped a ball in the air, and Robinson easily intercepted it. Aside from that play, Robinson was rock solid in man coverage. This tape will help him become a first-round pick.
At the end of the first quarter, Bolden made a great open-field tackle on Florida star running back Jadan Baugh on third down to force a punt from the Gators. Early in the third quarter, Gators slot receiver Bailey Stockton was open against Bolden playing a nickel corner. Stockton ran a slant to open up a gain of about 17 on a third-and-10. Soon after, Baugh tackled Bolden for an additional three yards after contact. Bolden has good zone coverage and gets into other tackles in the ground game. Overall, this tape won’t hurt him or help him much.
Baugh looks like a future first-round pick, but this game was disappointing as his offensive line struggled against Georgia’s defensive line, and he didn’t get a good running lane. Baugh ran hard, but was stopped. In the third quarter, Baugh started to get some better running lanes, and he showed some impressive power to get past some Bulldogs defenders. Late in the third, Baugh ran a short route and was wide open in front of the end zone, but the quarterback threw behind the end zone for an interception. After the touchdown, the Gators took a direct snap to Baugh, and with a defender wrapped around his legs, he delivered a perfect pass to beat tight coverage for a successful two-point conversion. Baugh totaled 38 yards on 17 carries. Overall, this tape won’t hurt or help Baugh’s draft projection.
Gators wide receiver Eric Singleton has been buzzing as a potential early-round pick this season. As a transfer from Auburn, Singleton is known as a field stretcher and a speedy wideout to stretch defenses vertically. This season, he hasn’t made the big plays he’s been expected to make, and Singleton had two terrible drops that hurt his team a lot in this game. In the first quarter, Singleton was open on a deep slant but the pass bounced off his hands, and a Georgia defender caught the deflection for an interception. In the third quarter, Singleton was open deep down the field on a third-and-long and let a perfectly thrown pass fall incomplete in his hands. Singleton has terrible hands with a serious lack of focus. Several team sources said Singleton was so high he couldn’t focus. It looks like a Ferrari but plays like a Corolla. Singleton looks closer to an undrafted free agent than an early-round pick.
