I think it’s every year, but the 2026 NFL season feels like it flying through. Even though October is almost over, I feel like it all started a few weeks ago. With that said, I doubt many of the players feel that way. After all, the regular season is a grind that players and coaches often refer to as a marathon, as opposed to an all-out sprint. Full of peaks and valleys, veteran teams learn not to ride the waves. Just try your best to keep the wins rolling as you head into the holiday months.
That’s where we’ll see the Detroit Lions in their Week 8 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. After getting their first divisional win against the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, they look to improve to 2-0 in the division, and 5-2 overall on the year. If you’re looking for a fresh perspective on that game, be sure to check out Anthony Balaj’s three key matchup articles.
I know a lot of fans enjoy the Lions being in primetime windows, or even the 4 pm ET slot like when they play Green Bay. However, there is something good about the Lions’ game against Minnesota at 1 pm ET. If you’re at home, you can flip the channel to the next game. For me, I have about a 15 minute drive before I sit down on my couch for the afternoon games. That brings us to our question of the day—which game other than Lions vs. Vikings are you most looking forward to in Week 8?
My answer: I’m going to the “Monday Night Football” game between the Chicago Bears and the defending Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks. The Bears are riding high right now, currently firmly in the mix for what looks to be an ultra-competitive NFC North race. Seattle is a little slow out of the gates, but with that defense, it’s really hard to count them out.
