Vikings Make Some Roster Moves Ahead of Saints Game

Ahead of their Week 5 matchup with the New Orleans Saints, the Minnesota Vikings made some roster moves that we want to make sure everyone is aware of.

The team took two players who were placed on injured reserve in the preseason and moved them to the active roster. The players are tight end Ben Yurosek and center Michael Jurgens. Both of those players saw their 21-day practice windows to return from IR open this week, and the team apparently liked what they saw from both of them enough to return them to the active roster. Jurgens, in particular, could provide some depth if the team decides it wants to try Blake Brandel again at guard in the absence of Donovan Jackson, who missed the rest of the regular season after tearing a meniscus last week against Tampa Bay.

The Vikings also picked up wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Jeshaun Jones from the practice squad. They were both signed this week, with Jones spending this preseason with the team and returning after serving a three-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. They could provide insurance after both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, who were both limited in Friday’s practice, were listed as “questionable” for Sunday’s game at New Orleans. With both Addison and Jefferson likely to be game-time decisions, there is a possibility that both will be active on Sunday. . .or there is a possibility that they both end up on the inactive list after being promoted.

Those will be the final moves the Vikings make before Sunday’s game, barring anything out of the ordinary.
