The Cincinnati Bengals have lost because of their defense the last few years. Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, that wasn’t the case, however, as the Bengals’ defense kept them in the game.
The offense is what let the team down today, and it has a lot to do with Ja’Marr Chase coming out early in the game. The wide receiver room, already missing Andrei Iosivas and rookie Colbie Young, was stretched thin with Chase ruled out following a concussion.
With that, Joe Burrow struggled, threw multiple interceptions, and the Jaguars were able to penetrate the run defense, keeping it completely shut down. Burrow and the Bengals put up a valiant effort, but fell a yard short on offense. They’ll need to figure out the answer at wide receiver after a day with only Dohnte Meyers and Mitch Tinsley healthy.
With that said, let’s take a look at Twitter’s reactions to the Bengals’ loss.
