Tank Dell has been ruled out for the Houston Texans’ Week 6 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars as he continues to work his way back from a knee injury.
The Texans confirmed Dell’s status on their injury report Friday ahead of Sunday’s game at Wembley Stadium in London. The wide receiver will remain unavailable for the AFC South matchup, leaving Houston with no other options in its passing attack.
Dell’s absence comes as the Texans try to build momentum after a rough start to the season. Houston enters Week 6 with a 1-4 record, while Jacksonville sits atop the AFC South at 4-1.

The Houston Texans PR account listed Dell as out on the knee in its official report on Friday. The decision means Houston must prepare for Jacksonville without the wide receiver, who is working to return to game action.
Dell’s continued absence follows a lengthy recovery from a serious knee injury he suffered in December 2024. Although he has made progress in his rehabilitation, the Texans did not allow him to play against Jacksonville. His status should not be confused with a full return to game readiness.

Houston will also be without David Montgomery, who has a groin injury, and safety Jalen Pitre, who is dealing with a shoulder injury. Their absences leave the Texans without three players listed on the final injury report before the game in London.
Jacksonville, meanwhile, enters the matchup with a 4-1 record after winning four of its first five games. The Texans are 1-4 and sit behind the Jaguars in the AFC South standings, making Sunday’s divisional meeting a chance for Houston to gain ground.
Dell’s absence removes a potential contributor from the Texans’ passing game as they look to improve their record. Houston will need its available receivers to handle the workload against a Jacksonville team that has made a stronger start to the season.
The Texans and Jaguars meet Sunday, Oct. 18, at Wembley Stadium in London, with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 am ET. Dell has officially been ruled out, and Houston’s focus now shifts to the players available for the Week 6 matchup.
