Broncos HC Sean Payton has taken over the offensive play-calling duties for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. The news was first reported by former NFL WR Brandon Stokley and has since been confirmed by Pro Football Talk. Denver’s offense has been a big disappointment with OC Davis Webb calling the games in the first four weeks.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
The Broncos offense took a big step back from last year in most key categories.
| Points Per Game | 23.6 | 18.5 |
| Yards Per Game | 343 | 280 |
| Yards Per Play | 5.3 | 4.9 |
Not all at Webb. QB Bo Nix hasn’t played well so far, and Denver’s run game is non-existent.
But Payton, one of the best offensive minds in NFL history, returning as a play caller would solve those issues. We’ll see how this shakes out in Week 5, but we’re hopeful about Denver’s offense getting back on track.
