For the second day in a row, the Seattle Seahawks added a defensive player to their practice squad.
Following Tuesday’s signing of defensive tackle Gary Smith III, the Seahawks signed linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo to their practice squad, according to a report from Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.

Seattle also cleared the exemption for wide receiver signing Malick Meiga, so he now counts against the 17-man practice squad limit. The Seahawks released veteran safety D’Anthony Bell and wide receiver Julian Hicks in respective moves.
Ciarlo, a third-year pro out of Army, went undrafted following the 2024 NFL Draft and tore his ACL in his first preseason, then with the New York Jets. He has since spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Tennessee Titans. He was part of Buffalo’s final cuts from 90 to 53 in August, and had a brief stint on the Titans’ practice squad earlier this month.
In all of Ciarlo’s three seasons, he made one regular-season appearance, playing exclusively on special teams for the Bills in a Week 5 loss to the New England Patriots last season. After touring most of the AFC East and a brief cameo with Robert Saleh in Tennessee, the 25-year-old will now try to get on the field with the defending Super Bowl champions.
