Rams have no timeline on Myles Garrett’s return

Despite a report that the Rams’ defense is winding down Myles Garrett will miss about six weeks with his knee injury, head coach Sean McVay said the team is not working on a specific timeline.

When asked how Garrett is doing after knee surgery, McVay said Garrett is doing well but told reporters the team doesn’t have any time frame for when he will actually be back on the field.

“Myles is good. I saw him out there, he’s good physically,” McVay said. “He’s got a good look in his eye. He’s been going in and out of a lot of meetings well as he attacks his rehab. He’s making good progress, but on a specific timeline, I’m not ready to give you that yet. As soon as I have those things, I’ll give you updates.”

After sitting out practice with a knee injury in training camp and struggling to play on his injured knee in the Rams’ Week 1 loss to the 49ers, Garrett underwent surgery and was placed on injured reserve. By rule, players on injured reserve must miss at least four weeks, but Garrett appears to be out longer than that. For how long, the Rams still don’t know.
