NFL Week 6: Best Bets and Circa Contest Picks

🦬 Bills Mafia Invades Las Vegas — and the Sportsbooks

The blue-tinted crowd at Circa tells you all you need to know: The Bills Mafia descended on Las Vegas for today’s game against the Raiders. And apparently, they brought their money.

At Circa, 76% of the bets and 61% of the money were on Buffalo.

The Bills opened as 6-point favorites, but the line was surprisingly on Buffalo -4.5 on Saturday night. (DraftKings has the Bills -5.5.)

Buffalo is coming off a 37-34 overtime victory over the Rams on Monday night and emerged as the Super Bowl favorite at +700.

But Matt Youmans, who is 20-12 in his NFL Best Bets columns this season, see another side of the story:

“Buffalo fans stormed into Las Vegas this weekend with full confidence in Josh Allen, who is often the quarterback version of Superman. Allen is hard to bet on, but a bad Buffalo defense is the other side of the story.”

🏆 What the Tournament Players Rate . . .

Carolina is the overwhelming favorite among this week’s Circa Million contestants, but . . .

Of those 5,744 submitted cardsa remarkable one 2,903 with the Panthers -1 against Philadelphia. That’s 50.5% of all cards — and 86.2% of participants who chose that matchup.

Here’s the catch: Circa Million lines were frozen before the Eagles announced that Jalen Hurts would miss the game due to a blood clot. The market then moved to Carolina -3.5 before settling at -3 on Saturday.

It means holding contestants Panthers -1 has a two point value linesomething that many seem unable to overlook.

Other popular Circa Million options:

Browns +5.5: 2,321 choices (40.4% of cards)
Jaguar -2.5: 1,605
Bills -4.5: 1,354
Giants +1: 1,271
Cowboys +1: 1,271

🏈 Ohio State Wins — and Losses

Ohio State outlasted Indiana 19-15 on Saturday, finishing as a 2.5-point favorite — perhaps by half a foot.

But the Buckeyes may have suffered a consequential loss. quarterback Julian Sayin injured his right shoulder and is expected to be out for several weeks.

It’s not a good Saturday to support college football’s big favorites, either.

Georgia (-19) lost to Auburn 27-24. Notre Dame (-10.5) fell to undefeated BYU 28-24. Alabama (-7.5) lost in Tennessee, and Texas (-13) lost in Florida.

On the other hand, imagine parlaying all four underdogs — Auburn, Tennessee, Florida and BYU.

Every $1 bet would have returned $739.43as calculated by VSiN fan Bobby Decorte.
