NFL Week 5 Best Bets: Circa Survivor Carnage, Steelers Consensus and Expert Picks

☠️ Cowboys wipe out 42% of Circa Survivor. Now What?

We knew the Buccaneers would be costly Thursday night.

We underestimate how expensive it is.

A shocking one 2,554 Circa Survivor entries — 42.8% of the field — chose Dallas to beat Tampa Bay.

They are all gone.

Add three entries that failed to submit a pick, and 2,557 entries were removed before the games even started on Sunday.

That will go away 3,415 entries chasing the $25 million prize.

The damage extended to Circa Grandissimo, where nine of the 24 surviving $100,000 entries chose Dallas. Only 15 remain in the hunt for $7.7 million.

And here comes the next twist.

The most popular remaining Survivor picks are the 0-4 Houston Texans.

that’s right. 1,228 entries — more than a third of the remaining field — are hoping for a winless team to keep their $25 million dreams alive.

The good news? Houston plays the 0-4 Tennessee Titans.

What could possibly go wrong?

Now let’s get to your NFL Week 5 betting card.

🏈 Everything is in Pittsburgh

How much do participants want the Steelers -2.5 against the Colts?

Consider this:

  • Circa Million: Pittsburgh is the No. 1 Week 5 selection, appearing on 1,892 cards.
  • Circa Friday Football Invitational: All seven handicappers who picked the game picked the Steelers.
  • Average Joe: A huge one 91% of the spread selections — 875 of 958 — were in Pittsburgh.

That’s an impressive amount of agreement in three different tournaments.

And Average Joes has another overwhelming opinion: 97% scored Over 54.5 in Lions–Cardinals. Only 11 contestants went Under.

⚾ Guardians step forward. Pitching Showdown opens the NLCS.

Cleveland is headed to the ALCS after an impressive comeback.

The Guardians shut out the White Sox 2-0 in the decisive Game 5 on Saturdaycompleting a comeback from a 0-2 series deficit.

Gavin Williams struck out 12, while José Ramírez’s two-run homer supplied all the offense Cleveland needed. The Guardians open the ALCS against the Rays in Tampa Bay on Monday.

Meanwhile, the The Dodgers and Brewers open the NLCS tonight at 8 pm ETwith Tarik Skubal facing Jacob Misiorowski.

Skubal is in the unusual position of being an underdog. But Adam Burke thinks there’s a more important question than which ace is better.

Which team needs to turn to its middle relievers first?
