Well, here we go again. . .the part where I try to give you some prop bets to put your money on in an attempt to boost your gambling payroll a bit, courtesy of what our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook have dropped for potential bets on this weekend’s Minnesota Vikings game. And, man, last week I was so will soon have a winning week. Of course, my “gimme” pick on Justin Jefferson going over his yardage total fell through because, man, this offense is fair. . .bleh. And in my parlay pick, I have the “under” and the Vikings -6.5, so naturally the Vikings win. . .6.
But me completely called Jauan Jennings with the reception, and I told you he might have two, and indeed he did. Man, I should probably get double credit for that. Oh, I don’t want to.
So, without any further ado, let’s get to our bets for this week, shall we?
Kyler Murray Passing Yards: Less than 224.5 (-114)
Yes, entering this week, the Lions have allowed the most passing yards and the most passing touchdowns in the National Football League. And yet, I’m getting the bottom of it. Why? Because until Kyler Murray can prove that he’s actually got any of these, there’s no reason for me to take over. He had 150 yards last week at home against an Indianapolis defense that wasn’t great either, and now he’ll go on the road against a division rival in what will likely be a raucous environment. I don’t like his chances here. I would love it too. . .love. . .to be proven wrong.
Andrew Van Ginkel to record a sack (+112)
Dallas Turner has gotten a lot of attention for the Vikings’ pass rush this year, and with good reason. But Van Ginkel is quietly having another great season for the purple as well. Chances are the Lions will have whatever extra help they have stashed away in Turner’s side, Van Ginkel will have some opportunities in this one, and hopefully he’ll take advantage of them.
The Vikings will have 7+ kicking points (-170)
Well, if the Vikings continue to struggle on offense, I can’t really use Jefferson’s receiving yardage. . .or anyone’s yardage. . .as a “gimme” bet. So, I’m just going to go ahead and use someone who still has as close to a cheat code as the Vikings have, and that’s Will Reichard. I’ve been to the well on this bet before, and Reichard rewarded me with 15 points and a Special Team Player of the Week Award. Perhaps we will have a similar performance this week. Actually, we might need one.
Those are the three prop bets I’m paying attention to this week, folks. Is there any particular bet you’d make on this one?
