Willis is up and down, not consistent. I don’t understand why he didn’t try to use his legs – there were several opportunities. I also don’t understand why he is so under center? Without a better understanding of exactly what NE is showing defensively, it ‘seems’ as if the offense ran more clearly from the gun. The pick was unfortunate but another was an easy one to drop.
OL had a bad day. Brewer wasn’t himself and Savi gave up a few too many whiffs. Kingston is either overmatched or completely lost in the wilderness. Paul has been solid but shows a 2 penalty per game tendency that is becoming too common. All in all, they failed to open many running rooms.
Chop & Uche played well but Interior DL was terrible. Grant is just awful, not good at the point in the middle. I thought earlier this year that IDL would be a strength? Not so much….
Ollie’s Ollie and all that….love the fire – HATE THE FIRE!!! He has a big mouth. He is immature. And LOVES HIM emotionally. He dances a fine line, but he’s a bit overreactive and a punk type, always having to yap and be heard. He should sit to start the game against the Lions….except for the fact that Jaylen Wright STINKS! But, this is a teaching-and-learning opportunity. The child has to grow up.
That fumble that wasn’t a sack from Chris Johnson was so bad it looks like the fix is in or something? At least NE shanked the FG then, but that’s really strange ‘looking’ – how is he alligator armed with a sure sack? Safeties had another scattered/up&down day. The down is more painful than the up given.
I thought it was time mgt. on our last TD drive was really FANTASTIC. We will need 2 scores….probably 2 TD scores! In over 10 minutes, we crowd and walk back after the games, which takes too much time. I’m not saying don’t hustle, but there should be a better rhythm/pace to save time AND keep the NE bent a bit.
We were beaten by a better team. We had chances but made costly mistakes at the wrong times. I really don’t understand how that non-1st down call for NE was reversed? I went for a drink and came back & NE had the ball again? No angle I’ve seen is conclusive to reverse? Did I miss whatever they saw in the review? Whatever – they fought/played hard. Made some mistakes that really cost em’. They were in the game all the way – the 2 pt. the conversion is a poorly designed play (they need to do something there).
