Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Ja’Marr Chase had his fair share of success against the Baltimore Ravens.
Heading into Sunday’s game, Chase has played with the Ravens 10 total times in his career. In those games, he caught 75 receptions, 1,204 yards, and eight touchdowns. That’s a decent amount of work for some receivers, and Chase accomplished it in just 10 games.
Baltimore’s secondary is certainly aware of Chase’s success against them, and when speaking to the media on Thursday, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey had an… interesting take on lining up opposite “The One.”
I mean, at least he was honest? Usually, you see cornerbacks and receivers talk about making each other better, but Humphrey seems to be hoping that Chase is someone else’s problem.
If the Bengals can get their first AFC North win of the season, Chase having one of his classic breakout performances against Baltimore will go a long way. Chase is off to the slowest start in terms of receiving yards of his career and has yet to reach 100 receiving yards in a game this season.
Humphrey didn’t seem too interested in trying to prevent that.
