Los Angeles Chargers news: Bolts get ‘D’ in loss to Rams

The Chargers took the lead on the Rams with less than two minutes left in the first half. When they entered the locker room, they were 10-9. The final score was 24-9.

It was another disaster ending a game where the Chargers showed “something.”

They had three drives that reached the red zone and made just three field goals. That wasn’t enough in a game where the Rams’ offense was held without a first down until the final drive of the first half.

It’s a sad time when the offense almost looks “good” after nine points, but that’s how low the bar has been set after their first six games.

CBS Sports’ John Breech felt exactly how Chargers fans likely felt watching Sunday’s loss. That’s why he gave the Bolts a ā€œDā€ grade for their seventh straight loss to start the season.

“The Chargers offense broke down. This team had a bye in Week 7 to shake things up, and somehow they looked worse. One problem is that Justin Herbert’s appearance is a shell of his former self. Herbert has turned the ball over at least once every game this season and added to that total with two bad interceptions against the Rams. It’s very possible that he’s not a good fit for Mike McDaniel and if that’s the case, the Chargers might want to think about moving on from McDaniel.ā€
