It’s no secret that the Miami Dolphins are relying heavily on their rookies on both sides of the ball this season. Between receivers Caleb Douglas and Chris Bell, offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor, cornerback Chris Johnson and others, Miami leads the National Football League in most snaps taken by rookies through three games in the 2026 NFL season.
In week three, one of their defensive noobies gave a potentially award-winning performance.
Rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez was nominated for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week award for his 6 tackles, 3 tackles for loss and a dazzling interception performance against the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday. He is tied for 7th overall in tackles this season with 28.
Rodriguez is the only non-first round selection nominated this week — as his competition is Jeremiyah Love (3rd overall to the Arizona Cardinals), Arvell Reese (5th overall to the New York Giants) and Kenyon Sadiq (16th overall to the New York Jets).
If you want to see Miami’s mustachioed maniac at the linebacker position take home the hardware, click the poll above and give Rodriguez your vote!
We’ll continue to update you on all things Miami Dolphins as the team prepares to take on the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday.
