The Indianapolis Colts are on the road to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars for week 8 of the 2026 season, kickoff is at 1:00 pm EST.
It sure felt like last week’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings happened longer than it was a week ago. The team traded franchise cornerstone players Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner. More rumors are swirling about other longtime Colts like Jonathan Taylor and Josh Downs. And as much as some of us would like to, there’s no conceivable way the Colts are going to trade Daniel Jones, sorry.
Despite last week feeling like a month, it’s only been seven days and that means the Indianapolis Colts will be playing another football game today. Now they have the first place Jacksonville Jaguars, who our Colts should beat badly. But it is the NFL anything can happen when the whistle blows, but it is likely that Indy will extend their losing streak in Jacksonville for another year.
Side Note: I told you this last week but I’ll probably keep reminding you every week because I think it’s important for everyone who enjoys these gameday threads. The SB Nation app makes commenting even easier, especially on these game feeds. At this point I roll my eyes every time someone asks me to download one more app, but this one really improves the experience so much that even I’m telling you that if you want to hang out here, chat, celebrate, commiserate, and argue in the comments, this app is definitely worth your time. So what should we look forward to? Well I’m not sure about you but today I’m going to be focused on rookie starting left guard Jalen Farmer. Farmer will replace Seahawks guard Quenton Nelson in the lineup. I expect to see a lot of ups and downs but hopefully some promising plays for the future of the Colts offensive line.
Defensively I hope to see CJ Allen in the first start. Reports are that he was slated to start last week against the Vikings before hurting his ankle. Looks like he’s good to go for this week, so hopefully they’ll leave the kid behind, sink or swim. I’m also excited to see how Adetomiwa Adebawore looks in an expanded role, with San Francisco 49ers DT DeForest Bucker out of town. Adebawore led the team with 4 sacks on the season (yes that’s a problem but I’m not talking about that today) and he did it while only playing 36% of the team’s defensive snaps. His production does not measure up to his playing time (Which means if it is we are watching something truly special) but it will be great to see what this guy has in store for this year and the future. One thing I am pretty sure of, Adetomiwa Adebawore is playing on a massive contract through 2027 and beyond.
Sorry I didn’t spend much time talking about the game itself, it would probably spoil it. Nobody gets fired. The fire sale will continue. The season isn’t over yet. There is more suffering to be done.
This is your week eight open thread so hang out here, chat, celebrate, commiserate, and argue in the comments! Be wild (within reason)!
