Brock Bowers reached a historic milestone in the Raiders-Jets game

The Las Vegas Raiders are finally back to their winning ways, thanks in large part to the incredible performance of tight end Brock Bowers on Sunday.

Former Georgia Bulldogs star Bowers had another productive outing, as he led Las Vegas with 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns on seven receptions and 10 targets in a 38-33 win over the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ

With that performance, Bowers became the first tight end in league history to accumulate at least 70 receiving yards in each of his first six games of a season, according to Jesse Merrick of the Silver & Black Sports Network.

The 23-year-old Bowers is undeniably a key part of the Raiders’ attack. He became Las Vegas quarterback Kirk Cousins‘ most trusted downfield weapon, and that trust is reflected in a team-leading 547 receiving yards on 60 targets. He also paces the team with five touchdown catches.

The Raiders will need Bowers to maintain his form next time they face the well-rested San Francisco 49ers, who have a Week 8 bye. Las Vegas visits Brock Purdy and along for a Week 9 game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
