Workhorse Jaylen Warren Delivers Again

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren compiled 126 total yards on 20 touches in Thursday night’s loss to the Browns. He played 69 of Pittsburgh’s 71 offensive snaps and ran a route on 87% of pass plays. Warren caught 17 of the team’s 19 carries, racking up 5.5 yards per attempt. That included runs of 24, 13, and 11 yards. Warren also tied for second on the Steelers with 6 targets, going 3 for 33 yards.

2026 Fantasy Football Impact

Warren delivered 2 big games as Pittsburgh’s workhorse: 176 total yards in Week 3 and 126 in Week 4. He averaged 6.5 yards per carry and 13.7 yards per catch in that span.

We’ll see when RB Rico Dowdle returns from his foot injury, but he remained sidelined in practice all week and could miss more time. Even if he does return, Warren’s performance the last 2 weeks could earn him a bigger piece of the backfield pie.

Warren probably won’t continue working as an RB1 when Dowdle returns. But he can certainly stay within the top-24 RBs.

The Steelers get a struggling Colts defense in Week 5 before a tougher Buccaneers run defense in Week 6. Pittsburgh’s remaining schedule ranks 20th easiest for RBs.
