Eagles News: Chris Kuper may be in trouble

Sadly, the Eagles stink. They were ravaged by injuries and weren’t even playing well before the bottom fell out there. The coaching is boring and the players seem checked out to some degree.

It has not been a fun year and there are nine games left on the schedule. It might just get worse.

Two things give me comfort today:

– The state of the rest of the division.

This will be the time for Dallas to go on a major run and they are floundering with their core intact. Their coach is the worst in the division. They don’t own their first-round pick. Their ownership issues are well documented. The offensive nucleus will be more expensive and older next fall.

Washington? They defeated the walking wounded Eagles and still didn’t have a shot to make any real noise. Fine with me.

The Giants are having a resurgence, all credit to them, but they’re only “good” right now, have question marks at QB going forward and could even have a false positive situation if they rush their rebuild, like they did with Big Blue earlier this decade. Things are up, but we’re not watching the ’80s 49ers currently being built.

These are the types of franchises I’m excited to be in the Eagles division going forward.

– Howie Roseman is at his best when it comes to asset accumulation and “building” mode rather than when he’s tasked with staying on top of the mountain. He’ll likely be on the job before next week’s trade deadline and the offseason is sure to come.

The next couple of months will be slow, no doubt, but I hope things get better sooner rather than later.

If the fans are angry, they have a right, but I’m only here on Monday afternoon. 🦅
