D’Andre Swift mimics a sweet Walter Payton hit

D’Andre Swift had quite the night on Monday against the reigning Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks.

The Chicago Bears star running back Swift played a big role in his team’s 34-17 victory at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash., scoring not one, not two, but three rushing touchdowns in the second half.

With his scoring barrage after halftime, Swift became the first player in Bears franchise history since 1977 to have at least three rushing scores in a half, according to ESPN Insights.

The last player to do so before Swift was none other than the legendary Walter Payton.

None of those touchdowns went for more than five yards, as Caleb Williams pushed the right buttons to put the Bears in short-yardage situations.

All told, Swift carried the ball 27 times for 27 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Williams went 24/34 for 247 passing yards and a touchdown with zero interceptions for the Bears, who won their third straight game.

Thanks to his trio of rushing touchdowns at Seattle’s expense, Swift now leads the NFL with 10 rushing scores through eight weeks of football. He can add to that in Week 9, when Chicago hosts the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill.
