Colts RB Jonathan Taylor: How much would it cost to get Taylor out of Indianapolis? The Colts had already been offered a 2027 second-round draft pick and an additional pick for Taylor—and promptly turned it down. Even after trading Nelson and Buckner, the Colts are not in fire sale mode. Taylor is just 27, he’s the face of the franchise, and he signed a two-year, $44 million contract extension in August. The Colts won’t deal him for anything other than a premium haul—and rightfully so. The Colts haven’t told the other teams exactly what they want for Taylor, but they logically want something close to the deal the Panthers got when they traded Christian McCaffrey to San Francisco in 2022 in exchange for 2023 second-, third-, and fourth-round picks along with a 2024 fifth-rounder. Taylor is due approximately $4.866 million for the remainder of this season, including active roster bonuses. His $15 million base salary for 2027 becomes fully guaranteed five days after the Super Bowl.
