Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love connected with wide receiver Christian Watson for a huge 53-yard gain in the first half of Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
But after the play Watson remained on the turf at Lambeau Field for a long time, and then was taken to the blue medical tent for further evaluation of what the team described as a chest injury.
The injury happened in this game Thursday night:
After initial evaluation, Watson was listed as “questionable” to return with a chest injury. But then the Packers offered an update, noting that he was being taken to a local hospital for “precautionary evaluation:”
This update from the Amazon Prime broadcast noted that the concern was a “chest injury,” and showed Watson walking to, and then climbing into, an ambulance:
Update: According to the broadcast, Watson has been cleared from the hospital and is returning to Lambeau Field. He remains questionable to return, but remarkably has not been ruled out.
He did indeed return to Lambeau Field by ambulance:
Watson returned to the game and was targeted on a deep throw by Love on his first snap back down the field.
Note: This is a developing story and will be updated.
