NFL Trade Rumors: Hollywood Brown is expected to be available

With the Philadelphia Eagles’ vision for 2026 not so bright right now, there’s been a lot of talk about the team being active as sellers before the NFL trade deadline.

But here’s the talk of more fringe roster players being available.

Hollywood Brown is “a name that teams are looking for [wide receiver] help believe could be traded in the coming weeks,” according to a report from NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

This type of report seems to be an effort by Brown’s representation to get teams interested in him to find him a new NFL home with more opportunities than Philly. At the same time, I’m sure Howie Roseman would love to get whatever he can in a trade for him as opposed to just having to cut Brown.

But I’m not sure teams will be knocking on the Eagles’ door to get a deal done.

Brown often struggled in offseason practices, which explains why he was active but played zero snaps in Week 1. Then the Eagles had him involved in some designed touches in Week 2 … but he still played 17 snaps.

Brown missed the Eagles’ next three games with an ankle injury. He was not listed on the Eagles’ final injury report for Week 6 … but was kept inactive by the team behind six active receivers (DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, Darius Cooper, Elijah Moore, and Britain Covey) as a healthy scratch.

So, Brown clearly has no role in Philly. And it’s clear he’ll welcome a new NFL home.

It’s hard to believe the Eagles would get much, if anything, for him in a trade. They may just have to cut a player they signed to a one-year, $5 million contract earlier this year.
