Rams WR Davante Adams is expected to miss 6-10 weeks with a ruptured hamstring, HC Sean McVay said Monday. Adams went down on a non-contact play late in the Week 6 loss to the Cardinals.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
The short end of this timetable would have Adams back for Week 13, but the long end would stretch to Week 16. Considering the severity of the hamstring injury, we’d like to see Adams get through at least one game before trusting him in fantasy lineups again.
Adams is droppable in most fantasy leagues without an IR spot.
Update: Adams is undergoing surgery to “clean out” his hamstring tendon, with “hope to be back by the time of the bye or shortly,” according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Rams have a Week 11 bye. It looks like Adams could end up on the shorter end of McVay’s tenure. This makes him slightly more stable in deeper fantasy leagues.
Other Winners and Losers
Through 6 games this season, Adams answered:
- 19.4% of Rams targets
- 18.1% of those caught
- 27.7% of receiving yards
- 36.4% of receiving TDs
Those numbers were slightly inflated by WR Puka Nacua missing 2 of 6 games, but it was a big loss for the Rams’ passing game, particularly in the red zone. QB Matt Stafford’s fantasy outlook takes a hit until Adams returns.
Nacua figures to absorb a greater part of this passing game forward. He averaged 12.3 targets on a 29.1% share in the 3 games Adams missed at the end of last season.
WR Konata Mumpfield covered the majority of Adams’ playing time in those 3 games last year, registering a 57% route rate and 11% target share. WR Xavier Smith was next on routes (43%) that season, but he is currently on the 49ers’ practice squad. Mumpfield is worth considering as an addition in deep fantasy leagues.
The Rams TEs should also get some help with Adams out. That’s Tyler Higbee for a short time. Terrance Ferguson is eligible to return in Week 8.
