🏈 Four Straight Thursday Upsets. What’s Next for NFL Week 6?
Make it four straight Thursday Night Football upsets.
In yesterday’s VSiN Daily, we noted Dave Tuley’s observation that the underdogs have won three consecutive Thursday nights.
The Broncos made all four, beating the Seahawks 17-14 in overtime as 2.5-point home underdogs.
And it’s not just a Thursday phenomenon. According to Dave ViewFromVegas tracking, NFL underdogs are now 41-33-5 ATS (55.4%) this season, even the favorites go 48-30-1 straight up.
The game also stayed under 40.5, lowering the season-long edge for Overs to 40-39-1.
An Injury That Could Shake Circa Survivor
The Eagles ruled out a quarterback Jalen is sick for Sunday’s game against the Panthers, and the betting market reacted immediately. Carolina moved from a 1-point favorite to -3.5.
But the impact can go beyond the point spread.
The Panthers are not included Adam Burke’s potential Circa Survivor picks when he published his Week 6 review. Now they can be a popular option.
Carolina is still available at 98.6% of the 2,910 live entries. There are so many contestants that suddenly there is another team to consider.
Does a quarterback change make Carolina worth using now, or is there a better chance elsewhere on the Week 6 board?

⚾ Brewers Sweep Dodgers. Now Comes the Wait.
The Milwaukee Brewers are headed to the World Series after completing a four-game sweep of the two-time defending champion Dodgers with a 6-4 win on Thursday night.
And Adam Burke was more than impressed with the result.
“What an incredible series for the Brewers and their bullpen,” Adam told VSiN Daily. “They were the more prepared team and it showed in every aspect of the game in every game of the series.”
Now comes an unusual challenge: Milwaukee would not play again for eight days. Game 1 of the World Series is scheduled for Friday, October 23, regardless of how the ALCS ends.
Meanwhile, the Guardians take a 2-1 series lead into Friday’s ALCS Game 4 against the Rays (6 p.m. ET, TBS).
Adam is ready with his Game 4 breakdown and betting analysis.

🏈 Friday Night Football: Can a QB Change Save Washington?
The college football weekend kicks off with three games on Friday night, including a Big Ten matchup that raises an interesting question: Will a quarterback change fix Washington’s offense?
Elijah Brown threw three touchdown passes against Iowa after replacing Demond Williams Jr. But Adam Burke isn’t convinced a new quarterback will solve Washington’s problems protecting the pass and running the football.
Meanwhile, Purdue played a tougher schedule. Does this make the Boilermakers worth putting up points?
Friday’s college football games (Circa lines; times ET):
- Memphis (-7) at Tulane — 7:30 p.m., ESPN
- Washington at Purdue (-3.5) — 8 p.m., Fox
- Appalachian State (-1) at Coastal Carolina — 8 p.m., ESPN2

🏀 NBA Changed the Rules. Has It Changed the Math in Betting?
Last season, four NBA teams combined to go 16-95 after the All-Star break. Losing has almost become a competitive sport.
Now the NBA is trying to change that.
Under the league is new “3-2-1 Lottery,” finishing with one of the three worst records comes with a penalty instead of the usual reward.
Here’s why bettors should beware: If bad teams have more incentive to win, those late-season games against opponents might not be the automatic mismatches we’re used to.
That could change how we are disabled season win totals — at both ends of the standings.
In our new one 44-page VSiN NBA Betting GuideZach Cohen explains the rule changes, what they might mean for bettors and where he sees potential opportunities.
