The Philadelphia Eagles released their first official injury report of the week on Wednesday ahead of their Week 6 game against the Carolina Panthers.
There are 24 players listed.
Not all of them are on the 53-man roster, which is really a 52-man roster because Lane Johnson will count against the team limit whole season, but it’s still crazy.
Let’s fix everything.
The Eagles listed six players under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, Drew Kendall, Jalyx Hunt, Michael Carter II, and Will Shipley.
Earlier this week, there was a report that Barkley and Smith “have a chance” to return against the Panthers. Both of them missing training on Wednesday is not an encouraging start in that regard.
With Barkley hurt, Tank Bigsby on injured reserve, and Shipley also concussed, the Eagles will be without their top three running backs on Sunday. They currently have two healthy backfield options on the roster: Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele. They also have Jaydon Blue on the practice squad … and They said they will sign Ja’Quinden Jacksonalthough that move has not yet become official.
Smitty is now listed with “hamstring/finger” injuries after previously only being listed with a hamstring injury. He seems in danger of missing his third straight game.
Kendall is “week-to-week,” according to a report from Cayden Steele of NJ.com. Steele noticed that Kendall was walking cautiously into the locker room with a large sleeve on her leg. With Kendall expected to miss the second straight game, the Eagles will once again go with Jake Majors under center. Unless they move Willie Lampkin to pivot if Landon Dickerson returns to left guard? Or go with Dickerson at center and Lampkin at guard, which seems more likely?
Vic Fangio said “it will be very miraculous” for Hunt to play this week. But it looks like Hunt will avoid going on injured reserve, which is good. However, the Eagles will be without their leader in quarterback hits this season.
MC2 was hurt in Week 5 and looks to be out this week after he previously filled in for Marcus Epps as the starting safety in nickel packages.
The Eagles have listed 11 players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: Landon Dickerson, Tyler Steen, Dontayvion Wicks, Marquise Brown, Jonathan Greenard, Marcus Epps, Grant Calcaterra, Eli Stowers, Jakorian Bennett, AJ Epenesa, and EJ Jenkins.
The Eagles open 21-day practice windows for Dickerson, Calcaterra, Stowers, and Bennett this Wednesday.
Dickerson would not say if he would be ready to play Sunday. It doesn’t look like the Eagles should rush him back because, by Dickerson’s own admission, he played a little poorly in Week 1. One also has to wonder what level he might have physically diminished at this point in his injury-riddled career. The Eagles have until 4:00 PM Eastern on Saturday to activate Dickerson (or not) from injured reserve to play on Sunday. So, we’ll see.
Steen suffered a concussion in Week 5 but was able to return to the game. Presumably the Eagles are managing his workload in practice to help him make it to Sunday.
Wicks picked up a hamstring injury in training last week but played through it. Guessing he’ll do the same in Week 6.
Brown participated in practice for the first time since missing the Eagles’ last three games. Looks like he’ll be able to fix it on Sunday. One would expect his role to be minor as he hasn’t played much when healthy this early in the season.
Greenard was able to practice for the first time since getting hurt in Week 4. With Hunt out and the Eagles passing game off to a slow start, it’s good to have him back.
Epps may be able to play after missing multiple games. The Eagles could use him back on Carter II who probably won’t be able to play.
The Eagles shouldn’t rush to activate Calcaterra when they already have three tight ends on the roster and Zach Ertz on the practice squad. But they seem to like him more than their fans.
Stowers practiced for the first time since leading up to Week 1. There really isn’t room for him on the roster as a depth tight end who doesn’t really help on special teams. They can and should slow play any potential comeback here.
The Eagles aren’t necessarily hurting for cornerback depth but they could eventually look to activate Bennett if they prefer him over Jonathan Jones and/or Mac McWilliams.
Epenesa being limited with a back injury isn’t exactly ideal when the Eagles are already missing Hunt and Greenard has also been banged. Nolan Smith is the only Eagles edge rusher not listed on the injury report.
Jenkins was added to Friday’s report last week as a full participant with a foot injury. Tight end depth was limited Wednesday.
The Eagles listed seven players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Jalen Hurts, Jalen Carter, Zack Baun, Andrew Mukuba, Jihaad Campbell, Arnold Ebiketie, and Fred Johnson.
Speaking at his post-practice press conference Wednesday, Hurts revealed he was “nicked up” in Week 4. He wasn’t added to the report until Friday of last week, however, as a full participant with a calf injury. Hurts will play but it’s noticeable that his rushing production has really fallen. He tied a career-low in carries with just two in Week 5.
Carter continues to be listed on the injury report with a hairline fracture in his wrist. But he was wearing a less restrictive wrap in Week 5, so, it seems like he is getting healthy. Which is a big thing for this defense!
Baun is now listed with a shoulder injury after previously being listed with a concussion two weeks ago.
Mukuba is also listed as having a shoulder.
Campbell is listed with knee/wrist injuries. He is expected to miss playing time as he takes part in a off-ball linebacker rotation with Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Ebiketie is listed with a shoulder injury. Again, Nolan Smith is the only edge rusher on the Eagles roster not on the injury report.
Fred Johnson is listed with a knee injury.

CAROLINA PANTHERS INJURY REPORT (WEDNESDAY)
The Panthers, coming off Week 5, didn’t actually practice Wednesday. Their report is an estimate.
Two players are listed under DID NOT PARTICIPATE: rookie right tackle Monroe Freeling and veteran running back AJ Dillon.
Freeling, picked one pick before the Eagles selected Makai Lemon in the 2026 NFL Draft, is starting at right tackle in place of Taylor Moton. Moton began the regular season on reserve/non-football injury due to being diagnosed with blood clots after coughing up blood in June. With the Panthers recently opening Moton’s 21-day practice window to return from the NFI, it appears he could return to the field on Sunday.
Dillon, who unsuccessfully tried to revive the Eagles’ 2025 season with a “positivity rabbit,” has recorded just 34 offensive snaps in four games. His 17 carries resulted in 43 yards for a 2.5 average. Safe to say the Panthers will not lose their impact if he is unable to play. That said, he’s one of only two running backs on their active roster … behind Chuba Hubbard. The Panthers opened Trevor Etienne’s practice window to return from IR on Tuesday and also included Anthony Tyus III on their practice squad.
The Panthers listed four players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: starting edge rusher Jaelan Phillips, starting left guard Damien Lewis, tight end Tommy Tremble, and tight end Darren Waller.
Phillips, who was a trade deadline acquisition of the Eagles last year, finished second on the Panthers in sacks with two. The Panthers will likely manage his workload to help him get to Sunday.
Lewis missed the Panthers’ last game with an elbow injury but looks set to return to action this weekend.
Tremble led all Panthers tight ends in snaps played but finished second at his position in targets. He’s behind Waller, who has the third-most receiving yards for Carolina this season. Looks like the two players could fit.
The Panthers listed six players under FULL PARTICIPATION: starting quarterback Bryce Young, starting right tackle Taylor Moton, starting defensive tackle Tershawn Wharton, starting wide receiver Jalen Coker, running back Trevor Etienne, and depth edge rusher Thomas Incoom.
Young popped up on the report earlier this season with a knee injury but it hasn’t caused him to miss any games or practice.
As previously mentioned, Moton has a chance to return from the NFI list and start at right tackle for the Panthers.
Wharton’s practice window to return from reserve/physically unable to perform (PUP) opened Tuesday. His return numbers to give the Panthers’ interior defensive line a run-stopping boost.
Coker missed Week 4 with an injury but looks set to return to action this weekend. He ranks second on the Panthers in targets, receptions, and receiving yards.
Etienne’s practice window opened on Tuesday to return from IR. He could get back on the field to give the Panthers some much needed running back depth in addition to returning punts/kicks.
