SB Nation Reacts Results: First Vikings Loss to Come in Prime Time?

It’s time to check out our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, gentlemen. Let’s see how everyone responded to our questions this week, shall we?

As always, our first question for this week is whether you think our favorite football team is trending in the right direction. After ripping off a five-game winning streak to start their 2026 season, fans are finally starting to feel good about things in purple.

Of those who responded to our survey, 79% feel the Minnesota Vikings are headed in the right direction. They are currently one of three remaining undefeated teams in the league, and one of only two sitting at 5-0. After this week, they could still be one of two 5-0 teams, depending on how the Kansas City Chiefs fare, and could find themselves behind a potential 6-0 team from San Francisco that will play Monday night. Still, they’ll see nothing but a zero in the losing streak for another week, at least, and that feels pretty good at this point.

That leads us to our other question for this week, where do you think the Vikings might see something others than a zero in the loss column. We looked at the next four games on the schedule and asked which of them could hand the Vikings their first loss, or if you thought they could go into their International Series game in Mexico City against the aforementioned San Francisco 49ers with a 9-0 mark. It doesn’t appear as though most of you think they’ll get there unscathed.

Of those who responded to our poll, 40% of you feel the first time the Vikings lose this season is in their next prime-time appearance, when they host the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 9. That’s also the night Adrian Peterson will be inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor. Another 31% of you think the team will lose when they make their annual trip to Ford Field two weeks from Sunday to take on the Detroit Lions. There are 18% of you already do think the Vikings will make it to Mexico City to face the Niners undefeated, while 7% of you think the first loss will come on the team’s trip to Lambeau Field in Week 10. And, yes, there are 4% of you who believe the Vikings’ next loss will come the next time they take the field, which is when they host the Indianapolis Colts at US Bank Stadium a week from their rookie week.

I tend to lean more towards the majority on this one. I’d like to think the Vikings and the Niners will have a battle of the underdogs on Sunday Night Football in Week 11, but Josh Allen and company will be a tough task, even at home. It will be interesting to see what Brian Flores prepares for that Buffalo offense. But over the next four games, I think that’s the best chance for the Vikings to fall from the undefeated ranks.

Those are our SB Nation Reacts results for this week, gentlemen. As always, we’d like to thank all of you who took the time to participate in our polls for this week, and we’ll have another one for you early next week.
